Nate Kenyon
Nate grew up in a small town in Maine with dark nights and long winters to feed his interest in writing. His first novel, Bloodstone, a thriller along the lines of early Stephen King, was released in January and is already in it’s second printing. Nate sneaks off to the attic to write when his three kids are tucked in for the night.
Jonathan Davis
Jonathan has been playing music of various sorts all his life, from age 6 when he started cello, through head-banging rock-n-roll high school and college years, Conservatory as a classical cellist, 6 years conducting a symphony orchestra, sitting in with many groups on harmonica, and 6 months ago taking up the tenor saxophone after too many years saying he was going to do so. Fortunately for you he’ll left his sax at home and play an instrument with which he has a bit of a longer-term relationship.
Chris Barnes
The last time Chris Barnes agreed to perform he locked himself out ofhis guitar case minutes before the cops arrived. Can Barnesie get out of this one, or has his luck run out? Come see the foot-draggin’ folkie’s triumphant return to the stage at the Williams Coffee House!
Steve Cooper
Steve Cooper is a one-time professional musician-turned-carpenter-and-busy-dad who now mostly writes songs, sings and plays for his own enjoyment. His songs are contemporary folk with an emphasis on the acoustic guitar styling.
The Newtons
We are a “homegrown” trio of a mom and two daughters who enjoy playing all sorts of music, including classical, jazz, Latin, Brazilian, pop, rock and more. We are all members of small ensembles that perform locally. Steph and Val (Newton South junior and senior, respectively) are members of the South Lab Jazz band and Steph is also a member of South’s Symphonic Band. Fran has performed with the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra, at St. Ignatius Church, at Lasell Village and for Williams School functions.
Clara Silverstein
Clara Silverstein, a former Williams parent, has published her poems in many literary magazines and anthologies. She is the author of “White Girl: A Story of School Desegregation,” a memoir about growing up in Richmond, Va. (University of Georgia Press, September, 2004). Her day job is journalism. She is a former writer and editor at the Boston Herald, and has also contributed articles to the Boston Globe, the Boston Parents’ Paper, and Runner’s World magazine. She is now at work on a cookbook about Boston chefs for Globe Pequot Press.
